Alice J. Schenall, DrPH, MPH

Adjunct Faculty

Alice Schenall, DrPH, MPH, is director of cross-sector leadership and facilitation at the Association for State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO) in the Division of Leadership and Organizational Performance in Arlington, Virginia. In this role, she provides capacity building, technical assistance, and coaching to public health executives and programmatic teams in state/territorial governmental public health. Dr. Schenall is a key advisor to programmatic teams on leadership development strategies and tools to secure leadership buy-in, workforce development, and infrastructure. Throughout her career trajectory, she has gained experience in interprofessional practice, value-based care, and health professions education. She is proficient in leading accreditation, systems thinking, relational leadership, and educational design for adult learners.  

Dr. Schenall holds an undergraduate degree in Nutrition from Bennett College for Women and received her Master of Public Health in Public Health from Indiana University. She completed her Doctor of Public Health in Health Policy, Leadership, and Administration from East Carolina University. Alice enjoys family time, fellowship with friends, outdoor physical activity, and carving time as a bible enthusiast (a truth seeker).
