Admissions Overview

The University of North Carolina’s Gillings School of Global Public Health seeks students who are passionate about eliminating urgent public health inequities and are prepared to meet the academic and practical requirements of our rigorous online graduate program.

Applications for MPH@UNC are reviewed on a rolling basis, so the sooner you apply, the sooner you can receive an admissions decision and begin planning your future.

The Gillings School of Global Public Health also offers an on-campus MPH program. Application deadlines for the on-campus program can be found on the Graduate School website.

Application Deadlines

MPH@UNC offers students four start dates per calendar year (January, May, August and September) for the MPH Leadership, MPH Nutrition and Applied Epidemiology concentrations. Because the Nutrition and Dietetics program follows a lock-step cohort model, students interested in this concentration apply only for January cohorts.

If you are applying for the Nutrition and Dietetics program for the January 2023 cohort, please select “Registered Dietitian” as your concentration choice under the “Program Information” section.

Applications are accepted and reviewed in accordance with the following deadlines:
