Register for Classes
ConnectCarolina is the official system for course registration and all student records. All UNC students use this system to register for classes and to view their course history, academic record, financial account and other personal information.
Once you have your ONYEN and email, have completed a welcome call with a student support adviser (SSA), and connected with your academic coordinator, you are ready to register for your first term of courses. Registration opens approximately six weeks prior to the start of the term.
Watch the video series below to learn more about using ConnectCarolina.

How Registration Works
The registration process will be the same every term. Each term, you will receive an email from the student support team that will communicate the details and schedule for the next term’s courses and subsequent registration for MPH@UNC.
Please note: You may receive emails from the UNC registrar’s office with registration timelines that do not align with our program. Please disregard these emails.
Students should contact their assigned academic coordinator to determine first term course selection and all subsequent academic planning.
Holds
If you are having trouble registering during any term of the program, the enrollment window may not have opened yet, or you may have a hold on your account. To see if you have any holds, visit the StudentCenter in ConnectCarolina and view the “Holds” section and the “To Do List” on the right side of the page.
If you have a hold on your account, you will not be able to register for classes until the hold has been resolved.
Transcript Holds
Transcript holds will not affect registration until your second term. However, if we have not received your transcripts by that time, The Graduate School will place a hold on your account. You can view which transcripts are missing by going into your StudentCenter in ConnectCarolina and viewing the “Admissions Items” under the “To Do List.”
If you haven’t already done so, please ensure that your official transcripts are sent to the Graduate School.

You may also request that your school(s) email an authenticated electronic transcript to gradadmissions@unc.edu. Please ensure that any transcript-issuing institutions are capable of sending authenticated electronic transcripts. We cannot accept electronic transcripts in any other form from you or your school.
SSN Holds
If you have a Social Security number (SSN) hold, it means that the registrar’s office does not have your SSN on file.
To resolve this hold, follow the prompts in the “To Do List” to enter it.
