Jessica Soldavini works at the UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. Her work focuses on food insecurity, federal nutrition programs, nutrition policy, and nutrition and cooking education.

Soldavini coordinates the nutrition education program, leads the research and evaluation efforts, and oversees volunteers and interns for No Kid Hungry NC, which addresses child hunger by increasing access to underutilized federal child nutrition programs, including school breakfast, summer meals and at-risk after-school meals.

She works closely with the local and state agencies implementing these programs, as well as numerous partners, including elected officials. She also has experience working with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in both North Carolina and California; specifically, SNAP-Ed, which is dedicated to nutrition education and obesity prevention.

Soldavini has worked on a variety of projects related to local and organizational policies, including helping to develop a countywide lactation accommodation policy in Santa Clara County, California. Her research interests include food insecurity, federal nutrition programs, nutrition policy, nutrition and cooking education.

She teaches NUTR 805 – Nutrition Policy.
