Daria Igudesman

Adjunct Faculty

Daria Igudesman, PhD, RD, is a postdoctoral fellow at the AdventHealth Translational Research Institute. Her research focuses on clinically actionable modes of co-managing weight and glycemia in type 1 diabetes, primarily through nutrition-based approaches that consider the impact of the human gut microbiome. Adjunctively, Dr. Igudesman finds it critical to design eating approaches that minimize the potential for the development of disordered eating, focusing on diet quality over quantity, as appropriate.

Dr. Igudesman received her doctoral training in Nutritional Epidemiology at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health under the co-mentorship of Drs. Elizabeth Mayer-Davis and Ian Carroll. Concurrently with her doctoral training, she fulfilled the requirements to become a Registered Dietitian, completing both her PhD and dietetics training in 2022. She earned a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Columbia University in 2016, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from San Francisco State University in 2011.
