  2. A consistent, quiet location to attend live sessions
  3. Strong, reliable internet access
  4. An Ethernet cord to hardwire to your internet router

  6. Recent versions of Firefox and Google Chrome browsers
  7. All necessary classroom software (e.g., Zoom, plug-ins)

Program Expectations and Technical Training Session:

  • Timing: This session will most likely take place within a week of your welcome call, though multiple times will be available for you to choose from depending on your schedule. We recommend signing up as soon as possible!
  • Purpose: The purpose of this live session, which is hosted by one of your Student Support Advisors and attended by fellow peers in your cohort, is to highlight key pieces of information during onboarding, check-in on the onboarding process, answer any questions, and provide your initial technology training. Specifically, the technical training part of this session will prepare students with the practical, technical steps of how to host their own Zoom session, which is a requirement for many assignments, group projects, and exams throughout the program.
  • Other Details: You will receive an e-mail from the Student Support Team prompting you to sign up for this session during the most convenient time for you.

Gillings Meet and Greet:

  • Timing: The session will be scheduled to take place a few weeks before the start of first-term classes.
  • Purpose: The purpose of this session is not only to continue to familiarize yourself with the program but, more importantly, to start to meet and build relationships with the fellow students in your cohort and MPH program staff.
  • Other Details: You will receive an e-mail from the Academic Coordinator Team with more details and information about this session.
